MEET THE CREW
Yhenni currently lives and grew up in Bronx NY. She is working in order to build up her skills and abilities in many fields of film, photography, journalism, and writing. Her hobbies include dancing, singing, drawing, writing, film, and learning different languages. She signed up for the We Are All Connected program to learn about and experience another place outside of New York. In this workshop she took a lot of wonderful photos and acted as a mentor to students just learning how to edit film. Her future ambition is to someday, somehow, spread her writing and what she has learned to others.
She Said, "I just want to impact those I’ve come in contact with and just be successful in what I want to do."
YHENNI
Megan grew up in Duff,Tn and currently lives in White Oak. She goes to school at Jellico High School. Her hobbies include Video games, spending time with friends, swimming and watching movies. She signed up for the We Are All Connected program to meet new people and go see new places. In this workshop, she did a lot of amazing editing, photography, and filming. Something that she learned through the WAC program is that some people go through a lot unspoken things. Somethings she liked about making media is editing and interviewing in order to learn about people's experiences in life. Her goals going forward are to be part of creating more films in hopes that they helps people realize different things about the world and those around them. She thinks the WAC program is an amazing program as well as the people shes met within the program. She also found peoples reactions to the film very interesting
MEGAN
Peyton is from Stinking Creek, Tennessee and signed up for the We Are All Connected project because she was interested in how the whole filmmaking process works. This is her seocund year in the WAC program. She is looking to reduce, and eventually end the drug epidemic within her community. Peyton loves the editing process, but also enjoys running the cameras and conducting interviews. She wants to be a doctor and believes that there are nationwide problems, in both rural and urban communities. That being said, Peyton believes it is critical and important that we all, in both rural and urban, come together and work together to solve the problems within our communities.
PEYTON
Kendri is from the Bronx, New York and applied for the We Are All Connected program because he wanted to improve his filmmaking skills, meet new people, and listen to their opinions on social justice related topics. His goal is to inspire the new generation of teens to try something new and help change communities in need of assistance. Kendri has had various roles as a filmmaker - as a producer, sound man, cameraman, interviewer, as well as being featured as a subject in the EVC documentary, Family Portrait of Single Mothers, which he also helped produce. Being a cameraman is what Kendri enjoys most since he has dealt with cameras since he was 5. He feels that making urban and rural connections is important.
He said, “We only know what goes on in our own community, but not in others that might need similar assistance with issues like crime, drugs and the irresponsibility of government.”
KENDRI
Jimara “Jody” grew up and currently lives in Duff Tennessee. She goes to school at Jellico High School. She enjoys Outside work and anything that has to do with animals. She signed up for the We Are All Connected program to learn new things alongside her friends. In this workshop, she conducted interviews and formulating questions. Something that she learned through the WAC program was how to improve her communication skills and to talk to people more openly. One thing she liked about creating this film was talking to people during the interview process. Her goals going forward are to go to college and become a veterinarian.

JODY
Andrew is from Habersham, Tennessee and signed up for the We Are All Connected project because he was interested in working with cameras and interviewing people. This is his second year being part of the WAC program. Andrew goes to at Jellico High School in the city of Jellico, TN, which is suffering from a high rate of drug abuse. He is motivated to help clean up Jellico and restore it to its former glory. He enjoys being a cameraman but feels he is more of a reporter or interviewer. He believes it’s so important to connect the urban and rural communities together because if we worked together it would be one step closer to resolving the problems within them.
ANDREW
Miken grew up in Haiti and currently lives in Brooklin. He goes to school at MEC. He enjoys playing video games, soccer, and coding. He signed up for the We Are All Connected program to tell untold stories and make a difference. In this workshop, he learned and taught a lot. He's met a lot of awesome people and one Thing that he learned through the WAC program is we all can make a difference. Somethings he likes about making media is to inspire others through our voices, experiences, and things that occur around us. His future ambition is to become a computer scientist and he’s also considering media.​
MIKEN
James is from Campbell County, Tennessee and since joining the We Are All Connected program, his favorite part about filmmaking has been the photography. This is his secound year of the WAC program. He enjoys capturing images that create powerful memories. James believes the connections between urban and rural gives a wider understanding of how the two are both different and similar. Through this project, he hopes to help improve the drug problem in Campbell County. James is also interested in the history of extinct species and intends on becoming a paleontologist.
JAMES
Emily is from Duff, Tennessee and enjoys being with her family and reading books. She signed up for the We Are All Connected project for the experience of meeting new people and learning something new. This is her secound year of being apart of the WAC crew. Out of the different roles in the filmmaking process she enjoys working with the camera the most. Emily wants to see a change in her community with drug issues and thinks that making the connections between urban and rural areas shows the big differences and similarities between the two.
EMILY
Mediba grew up in Mali and currently lives in New York. He goes to school at HSEI and is working hard in order to go to the college. He enjoys playing video games. He signed up for the We Are All Connected program to open people's eyes. In this workshop, he contributed to Camera work and something that he learned through the WAC program is how to Interview. One thing he likes about making media is editing the videos. His future ambition is to do International business.

MEDIBA
Zoe grew up and currently lives in Elk Valley, Tn. She goes to school at Jellico High School and planning to go to ETSU to become an elementary teacher. She enjoys Playing volleyball and hanging out with friends. She signed up for the We Are All Connected program to meet new friends and learn about their culture. Also the general process of editing film. In this workshop, she got to interview people and learn about their past and future. Also, she got to edit what the group had recorded. Something that she learned through the WAC program is that not everyone feels the same way about a problem in different areas and how to fix them. Also, she finds it crazy that the same problems where she lives occur in the city as well. Somethings she likes about making media is that you get to see the whole process. You may start out with just interviews but end with a whole short movie over a topic. Her future ambitions are That she hopes to help the world little by little to become familiar with problems around everywhere. Her favorite thing about this experience is that we only had one week, but we still made friends that I still am in contact with.
She said, "It is crazy how this topic and these people have made an impact on my life."
ZOE
Iliana grew up and currently lives in Bronx,NY. She is working and studying in order to build her business and design skill. Her hobbies include graphic design, computer programing, gardening, cooking, both digital and traditional art, as well as watching documentaries. She signed up for the We Are All Connected program to learn about the process of documentary making and the skills needed to make it all come together. In this program, she spent time doing a little bit of everything but spent the majority of it conducting interviews and creating interview questions to ask. Something that she learned through the WAC program is that good people are everywhere fighting for justice and encouraging change. One thing she likes about making media is using it to connect to and learn about new ideas, things, and most importantly people. Her goals going forward are to become a entrepreneur who can create and form opportunities for her community. On a more personal note, she is grateful for the chance the WAC program and EVC has given her to work on her skills and get one step closer to finding her passions. It has been an honor to work on the film and create the WAC 2.0 website.
